Default Hello from the U.P.

Hello!

I've inherited a beautiful 124 from my late father in law. Drove down to Illinois this weekend and brought it home. My wife spent many childhood hours on this tractor mowing the lawn so it's pretty fun for her that I'm resurrecting it. It's got typical ten years of storage problems, I'll be replacing most of the fuel and ignition systems, but is very solid and looks good too.

I rescued a 1A tiller from the dirt and weeds at my own parents' house.

I'm shopping for a creeper, three point hitch, sleeve hitch, and a snowblower... probably tiller parts at some point...

You aren't fooling that's a beauty....straighten up those rear reflectors and it is almost showroom. Did you find the tiller gearbox when you were searching for parts??

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I'm pretty happy.

I did not find the tiller gearbox, I don't even know why the tiller itself was there, it was a strange and lucky thing to find.

So I need a tiller gearbox and a three point hitch...and a creeper would be icing on the cake.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
