Here is my story, 1999 picked up my first tractor (Scott's 1642)
Ran it for 10 years, good machine, neighbor drove a CC, he got his used, it out lasted my Scott's. I did abuse the Scott's, left it out all summer.
This year I needed a new tractor and went w/ a CC, got it home, went on line only to find out there were a lot problems w/ CC. Troubled, I searched for 3 weeks for a positive CC review. Never put gas in the new machine, thought about bringing back! There was this thing about belts comming off, and decks rusting out, I was almost on my way to TSC to get my money back when I decided to look for the right JD as a replacement, JD had 80% more complaints than CC. I realized my searches were only pulling up complaints and thats when I found MTF. I did a lot of reading and found a cult like following of the CC, when I saw the Orginal I fell in extream like. I went to TSC, told Kriston, if my tractor fails me in any way for 1 year I will bring it back and expect a full refund, without hesitation she said "OK". Went home put gas in my new LTX1046VT and cut the grass, what a awsome machine!!
So with my new CC I started posting on MTF, thinking I was a well rounded tractor owner. Little did I know, I was just a pup, when I accidently posted on a Tractor King/Queen thread about a Weed Eater I felt like my head gotten bit off. I then started to read more post less, the Orginal was still on my mind. I started looking around, asked guys at work, showed pics to strangers, trying to find an Orginal. One day a guy calls me about an old CC, it was a 15??, but I thought practice first, Orginal second. The guy wanted $450.00 so I went to look @ it, the price went up to $500.00. I sent my friend back to work on the price for me, he calls me back and says hey he has older CCs in the back, only $100.00 and $150.00, not sure what model.
Found a 125 CC in this guys back yard, the price is suddenly $250.00!!!! I was mad!! Over 4 weeks I tried to get him down on the price, finally got it for $125.00!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
