Default Spirit of ‘76 Paint Codes

I’m doing a Spirit of ‘76 Tribute over winter and I’m looking for the paint codes that IH used on this model.

I’ve seen a few restorations photos that were Bright White / Vibrant Red and a few that were the Cub Cadet era white / dark Red. Having never seen an original SO ‘76 in person I want it to be correct.

Sorry I can't help with the codes.. What model tractor are you using for the "clone"? 80? Lets see some pics! Best of luck with your project.

From my understanding, the colors were (A) IH 2150 Red, (B) IH 901 White, and the Blue was part of the decals.

Default Thanks!

Thanks !

The tractor will start as a yellow/ white CC 382 That my brother picked up not far from our parents house. It has the Same frame as a ‘76 and really not worth restoring as original.

Default Seat

They have great quality decals!

Any suggestions for a new seat that looks correct? I’ll paint it white, no problem.

Mater of opinion there on the decals.
The 104 and 126 dash decals suck.
Viewed some at Fredericktown 2 weeks ago, and they fit just as bad as the ones on my machines.
Be prepared.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
