Default nice machine

I like it. Looks like a worker.I'd be very tempted to do a full service, new seat, and put it back to work. Maybe some fenders too.

Also, welcome to OCC. There are quite a few 100 aficianados here.

Kirk,

It appears to have a 14 or 16hp engine. The frame has been modified to fit the larger flywheel shroud.

Thanks for the manual link! I did notice the frame modification is has a K241 in it, the guy my friend got it from 30 years ago used to do pulls I guess, we don't plan on doing a full restore for a while, we plan on getting it running good and enjoying it for a bit, thanks again for the warm welcome and I look forward to seeing what everyone is doing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
