Cub Cadet 73 trans fluid change.
hey, im driving myself nut trying to find any how to write up or a video on how to change the trans fluid and what fluid does it use? gear oil? hydrostatic fluid?
i guess that the bad part about owning a top 5 rarest cubs. anywho. im having trouble shifting gears. everything is stiff. its hard to get in and out of gear.

When my dad an i still had my grandpa's 1200 we opened up the gearbox and cleaned it and used the hytran fluid to refill it and never had an issue. After all, the hydrostatics all have the fluid as the differential lube too.
You just take the back cover off over a pan that can hold at least 2 gallons, and be sure to have a replecement gasket if the old one is in bad shape or trears when taking it off. Im going to change the fluid on mine soon too and the service manual says to fill it up to the fill hole after and then drive to for a few minutes then open it back up and add more if the level goes down.
