Default Thanks For Having Me !

Good Day All !

I'm new to the Cub Cadet game. I am acquiring a 1872 with the only attachment being a mower deck.

I really don't even need the mower as my lawn would be approx 10 passes. I want the tractor for a blade to do a little snow cleanup , and driveway scraping. and mostly to haul a trailer around my property.

I do have a couple questions. What series is the 1872 considered? How do I know what attachments with mount up?

Well anyway , I'm sure I'll have plenty of question going forward. Here is a bit about my deal.

I'm up here in Southern Maine. I'm an avid motorcyclist. I hunt & fish. I live in the woods with my wife and 3 dogs. I'm an avid craft beer enthusiast. I'm a self taught Hydraulics tech for a small company throughout New England . We also build driveshafts, PTO's, filter systems, etc.I 've been in the truck industry for over 20 years, on the builders and suppliers end. Again thanks for having me , hope I'm not too much of a pain in the azz!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
