1811 D build
I am building a 1811 into a diesel DYNAMO, plow Machine to be able to run with the big DOGS at RED NECK PLOW DAYS!! And others!!!
1) when U take a gas machine to a diesel, U must solve 3 main puzzles; FUEL system, ELECTRICAL system, MECHANICAL systems. Why would I bother, when U can buy a perfectly good Diesel, like a 882,1572,1782,or 20 series? they cost, and have been rode hard and put up wet, once to often ! They also are a night mare to maintain! Their engines are in backwards ! 2) I propose to preform this feet of daring, within a budget of $1650, the engine I bought, (w/400 hrs.) D722-e,20 hp., maybe cost to much but in long run should go 3,000 hrs. easy! the rest I will hand fabricate, with the help of my Buddy who tells people I'm crazy/ tricky, should be FUN!!!!

Sounds like a cool build. Are you keeping it yellow and white? ,are you making custom decals(1811d)?
