I am running out of things to do to it. Today I put new LED tail lights on it. Only things left to do is replace one headlight and get some of those grill screen fastener springey thingeys.

Still have not had enough snow to try out the blower but I did chew up some snow piles and it worked good. I put the chains on, and I had kind of a fail at first when putting weight on. I found 2 ft. of 1" round bar under the welding table to stick in the sleeve hitch, welded a nut for a stop to keep it from sliding into the sleeve to far, then sild a 350 chev. block over it through the cam bore. As near as I can tell with bathroom scales it is about 145lbs. The fail part was that the hyd. didn't have enough power to lift both the 200lb. blower and the weight at the same time. Well that didn't work. What did work was I welded a piece of 2" X 16" angle to the rear of each of the 2"X2" blower push bars and bolted the block to the angle. Looks much better and will act as somewhat of counter balance to lift the blower. If I need more weight, I have a crankshaft and heads I can bolt on also. Later.

What's missing?
Beside the slot that the hydro. control lever travels is another small slot 1/12in. long with nothing in it. What's missing?

I do believe the grill on the quietline series is held on with a machine screw and nut , lockwasher, washer behind the screen , one each side, not the spring clip as on earlier models

It's just wired on for now but I think that I will make stud bolts out of carriage bolts, slip the grill on and cap it off with a shiny stainless acorn nut.

There is an adjustable stop that goes there. A little knob and a nylon stop that slides so you can set a certain speed and return to it. You can bypass it by pushing the speed control to the right and going around the stop. It's usually missing--I only have one on one of the 1450s, the other 1450 and the 1650 it's missing.

We finally got enough snow to try out the blower. All is well. Had a temporary breakdown after I shut it off for a few min. it would not start. After a little checking I found it just needed a wiggle on the PTO switch. Project 1650 complete. Mabey some paint someday. On to the next project, a 108.

Angry 1650 owner

Hello everyone my first post as well thanks for being there. The cub is not sparking. Tried to take the cover off the points but had to pry the motor to get to them. Any help with knowledge will be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
