982 Tiller options
Hello, I've been searching with little or no luck for a tiller for my 982.
Recently, located a Kubota G4000 2000 rpm tiller. It's 40" wide, barely covers the tires. The shaft fits right in the tractor. I can't hook it up to see how it would fit. Had anyone tried this tiller? Or have experience with other brands on the 982? I'd really like to have one. Thoughts please |

There were three Tiller options for the 982. They were:
* 190-308-100 42" Tiller * 190-356-100 48" Tiller * 190-442-100 40" Tiller All Tillers require a Cat 0 hitch and a Rear PTO. The Cub Cadet Rear PTO is rated at 2000 RPMs.

Thank you , I knew that much. I'm interested to know if the Kubota tiller is a valid optiom. It's CAT0 and 2000 rpm.
Will any 2000 rpm tiller work? |

Got no idea but you will want to check the rotation of the PTO, but I'm sure you've thought of that.

You may want to consider a self powered tiller like the Cub 400 tiller.

Yep, thats an option as well.
I'll be honest, this being my first Cub, I dont know the rotation...is it CW? to make the tines rotate forward? On my cases, I have the option to go forward and backwards because they are all hydraulic, I dont see the Cub having that option. I'd still like to find a PTO tiller...I have everything else for it. I even have a nice 2072 I'd trade for one... |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
