Default 149 repower

I've been one click away from ordering the 18 hp B&S Vanguard repower kit for my 149 for the last couple weeks. It's designed for cc1250, 1650, etc.
I want to discuss a couple things:
To connect a drive shaft to the engine I believe I'll need the flange pn 903-0204,flex coupling pn 722-3000, and coupling arm pn 748-3001.
On the connection to the hydro pump, use the present 149 coupling arm and flex coupling.
Fabricate a new drive shaft to connect the motor and hydro.

Is it going to be that simple?

The 149 isn't going to be used for much; probably just a garage queen. The K321 will go into something else.

If you don't care to hook up any wires, Yes! You currently have an external starter/generator and external voltage regulator. The new engine is self contained, like the engine for a quietline (1250-1650). I don't know what all it would entail, but you'll need some wiring diagrams and will probably end up making a new harness or hack up the old one with a bunch of splices.

Will it bolt in? The quietlines use an engine cradle that sits on rubber mounts in the tractor frame. I don't know if the holes line up, maybe I guess?

Should be an easy repower. You could use part of a 2000 series drive shaft like I did on this 149 to couple to the engine. Just get the engine lined up nice with the shaft when you mount it. Wiring is no big deal.

Will a v-twin even fit in a 149 frame? I'd think it would be too wide.
