I can still find mag twins cheap in craftsman tractors and such, but their all vertical shaft. I might just have to convert one.

It’s not an awful awful job, but it was more than I wanted to deal with.

I’d widen your scope to see if you can find some KTs as well. It’s the same engine more or less.

Huh...It'd be pretty rare to see one of those around here, their all just LT1000s and the newer junk. I guess at this point I'm mainly looking for a wheel horse for the little tractor's engine and another wheel horse, cub, generator, simplicity, craftsman or anything with a magnum twin. (We already have a twin, but it's rusty and the cylinder walls are scored and pistons are junk.)

Don’t remember off the top of my head of that crankshaft will work with the cub PTO. Otherwise, you’d just need the right muffler and tins

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
