Happy new year y'all. I am a new member. I have been fond of Cub Cadets for many years. I've had a model 63, 70, 149, and now have one 1863 and two 1864 cubs. One will be used for mowing the other for pushing snow & dirt. I am interested in installing a 3 point hitch on the 1864 with the blade. As I search, used ones are as expensive as new one. Any other ideas out there?

First, welcome to OCC..........
The 1864 used the 190-389 3 Pt Hitch Assembly. Unless you are handy, can fabricate, and have all the tools, is the other option to buying a already fabricated assembly.

Thanks for the information, I have an old sears rider with a sunstrand rear end sitting around that is set up for a 3 point hitch minus the arms. I enjoy fabricating so will start with those parts. I am currently installing a gasket set on the CH18 kohler as it had a HD gasket leak.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
