Default 71 / 121

Running out of odd ball stuff to do so I think I'm gonna try and put an M12 that I have from my 1210 in a 71. I know I'll have to cut the frame for the bigger flywheel but wondered if it will fit otherwise? Also I think I'm going to need a set of fenders and seat support of something like a 122 if any of you guys have some laying around shoot me a PM. Hope to be able to do a gas tank of some sort under the seat. Sandblasted the frame for it yesterday. Attached a couple pics of what I’m working with.

Looks like it will be an easy re-power. Set the frame up on the saw horses and put some 3/8" threaded rod in the motor bolt holes and it lines up with the bolt pateren for the old 7HP that the tractor was built with. Gotta notch the frame like a 147, no big deal. Ve Got Der Miller So Ve Gonna Be Makin Der Sparks By Golly

Ya Duke I know.

A couple pics of the, well I don't know what it will be yet. Maybe a little plow tractor. One of those parts from this and parts from that deals.

Allen

This is what happens when I have too much time on my hands. One thing I need to work out is a gas tank and seat support. Also may do a rear lift on it. Just one of those stupid projects. Clutch is junk. Got a set of disk brakes that I may put on it for turning brakes sort of like the Supers have. So far every bolt came out with no problems except one and the cut off wheel took that off in about 30 seconds. Working on the exhaust elbow now. It's soaking in PB. If I can't get it out it may have an exhaust that comes out through the grill. Kinda want to do a 4" chrome stack on it.

Looking good! I cant wait to see the final product. A Magnum motor in a narrow frame, should be bad**s!!!

Shouldn't this be under the Customized Cub Cadets category?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
