I wish mine started that easy. Mine is about to the point it won't start at all. The other day it took me about 45 minutes to get it running. I have to warm the motor with the heat gun, then I jump the glow plugs direct to the battery so there on while I'm cranking it. I also started to take off the air filter hose and blow hot air in the motor with my heat gun while it's cranking. When it cranks it just blows black smoke and soot all over the place. It literally fills my whole garage with black smoke. After I get it running it runs fine and it also restarts fine until it cools off. I think the injectors are shooting a stream of fuel instead of atomizing it so it will fire. It's also using a lot more fuel than it should. My father-in-laws tractor was doing the same thing. He had his injectors rebuilt and his starts great now even in the cold we've been having.

One more thing. I'm also sick of blowing all the black soot out of my nose after it finally starts. If it wasn't for the starter upgrade and spare car battery I keep in the garage I don't think it would ever start.

Yep. Time to rebuild them. Probably should do the pump too.

Ask the diesel shop that you took the injectors to for the return hose. They should stock it.

Hope the rebuild solves the starting problem. Time will tell.

Don't know why I never thought of asking the diesel shop for hose. Good idea. I will see what they got when I pick up the injectors.

Well I just got my injectors back. Nothing wrong with them. Guy at the shop tested them before he did anything and said there not perfect but not ready for a rebuild. Didn't charge me anything so that's good. He did say if the glow plugs are good and its smoking bad it's more than likely down on compression. So I guess I will start there and see what happens.

Anyone know where I can get a compression tester for a diesel that will s few in the glow plug hole? Looking for something I may be able to get locally.

I have one. Or u can go buy one at harbor freight for 30$ Item # 93644 if u wanna go that route. Another helpful hint would be a valve adjustment, service manual, valves should be set at 0059"-.0071"

Looks like I'm going to harbor freight tomorrow then. I have one of those in town too. I agree it wouldn't hurt to run through the valves. Want to get my compression checked first.
