Cyclops drive shaft length chart
I recently picked up a 1572, like all it needs drive line work. I’m thinking going the cyclops route. The trouble I’m finding is there is not a length list, I know the standard answer is to have Jeff in pa make one or use a 1863/64 driveshaft.
Without pulling it apart it’s hard to get a length, what is the required length? Also I have 4 cyclops driveshafts, maybe more, not all are marked as to what they where removed from. Is there a master list someone has made? |

Joe,
Go here and look them all up, the lengths are in the parts list. When you are done make a sheet for all of us to see. https://www.cubcadet.com/en_US/ari-partstream.html#

Lots of hunting and pecking there... it will work, but I’m trying to figure out what’s on the shelf upstairs too...

While I’m thinking and posting, has anyone tried running the CV driveshaft without bolting it to the pump? I know I can pull the rear and swap pumps, or drill out for the 1/4-20 bolt to hold the adapter on, is it necessary?

I think Parts by Jeff, the sponsor at the top, makes a pump drive that uses the roll pin. Not sure if he has done that, but he could most likely.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
