It's even got the old tires. I actually would have thought a 1282 would be new enough to come with terra trac style ones?

Wink

Those were changed at some point. I am working on getting the right 12x8.5" rear wheels to replace the current 12x7" wheels.

What tires did you go with? That's a big improvement IMO.

Deestone D405. I've used them on my 1711 plow unit and have been pleased with them for the price point.

Nice. I only have one Cub with ag tires, but they pull good.

I get excellent traction from them in most conditions. Chains were just added to ensure traction on ice, since the 1711 is my snow removal machine.

Chains don't seem to work too well on this tread type. Maybe 2 link ones

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
