Default Cat 0 2000RPM Mower (Flail or Rotary)

I'd be really interested in getting a rear flail (or rotary) CAT 0 2000RPM mower. I know Mott made quite a few flails in the 70s/80s for different garden tractors, so I figured I'd ask around if anyone had one and was willing to part with it.

I believe Woods made a 4' rotary that CC rebadged the L42 as well.

Thanks

Here is a company that still makes 2000RPM PTO attachments https://befco.com/ I think there is a dealer Near Burlington, Illinois
Most MOTT Flails were front Mounted For Cub, Deere and Many other Brands.
If I had a rear PTO for My 2182 I would be looking for that L42 as well
But Here what I Plan on getting for My John Deere X748 https://www.goodworkstractors.com/pr...t-flail-mower/ In a 42inch size Just Because it is Just easier to find 540RPM Implements In Cat 1 Than Cat 0 2000RPM PTO attachments

I'm looking for something used that didn't cost more than the tractor

How are you going to speed down the PTO? Additional gearbox?

I have an L42 but I got lucky and found mine cheap. I bet it would be hard to find one under $1k now. I missed another at $700 a few years back too so they are out there.

My X748 has a 540RPM Rear PTO Not a 2000RPM

Deere Hasn't used a 2000RPM rear PTO since 1992 They Got with the Industry standard Long Before any other Manufacturer. Simplicity didn't Go with the Rear 540RPM Until the Late 1990's Early 2000's and Cub Never did as the 3000 series during it's 1st 2 Year of Production still had a 2000RPM rear PTO

I see Now Befco only Makes 2000RPM tillers Now. a couple years ago they still had 2000RPM Flail Mowers & rotary Cutters

It's really too bad there wasn't a Lot of Industry standardization across the Board with Super or Large Garden tractors like the Compact Tractors and above.

I bet You would have seen companies Like Sundstrand Produced a Rear 540RPM PTO Kit. That's the one Place Tuff-Torq Kills Hydro-Gear (started as a Joint Agri-Fab & Saur-Danfoss Joint Venture. Sundstrand Had sold its Lawn & Garden transmission to Saur who In turn Merged with Danfoss and then went into Business with Agri-Fab to give Us Hydro-Gear) today in That Tuff-Torq Produces a 540RPM rear PTO Kit for their Transmission and Have been doing it for the Last 30 plus Years. Had there Been More standardization, You Might be looking at a 540RPM PTO driven equipment, which would be easier to find today Than 2000RPM equipment. By the early 2000's there Just wasn't Much call for attachments Manufacturers to continue Producing rear Mounted 2000RPM equipment. Front 2000RPM equipment is still being Produced Because Most front PTO are 2000RPM or Greater

I see the pros and cons to 2k rpm, but it's what I have to work with

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
