Hey! I just got a great idea! You could unbolt the hydrostatic transmission from the cast iron axle and install a hi/ lo range selector and then put the tranny back on in front of the hi/ lo selector; and then you will have a 2 range hydro!!!

The front remotes will be for my power angle blade and the rear remotes for my dump trailer.

Got front remotes working today. Had room to mount them below the toolbox. I already had a couple of hoses that just happened to be the perfect length.

Got a pic of the piece that holds the couplers. It clamps around them and bolts to the frame.
I also made a new filler panel around the levers.

A few weeks ago, I decided to get the tractor out of hibernation only to find that it had a flat front tire and a dry gas tank. The tank had sprang a leak where I repaired it when I repainted it. Apparently, JB Weld isn’t a long term fix. This time, I soldered the pin hole shut. It’s very odd that it has what appears to be a rust hole yet the tank is completely rust free inside where the hole is and the steel is rock solid around the hole.
The tire had a leak at the bead and since I needed to break down the tires to put tubes in, I decided to narrow the wheels and repaint them. The Firestone 3-ribs don’t have the beads inset from the sidewalls like all other tires I’ve seen, so the bead area of the wheels appears to stick out past the sidewalls. I’m hoping that narrowing the wheels 1” will look better. While the wheels were off, I also added tapped holes for fake lug bolts. I’m gonna paint the tank, wheels, and wheel weights this weekend.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
