And some more pictures. It has electrical gremlins which I failed to fix. Sam- insert the "I told you so" right here. Hoping my brother in law the electrician can lend a hand or I might better have just rewired the whole thing. Fingers crossed though. Otherwise gonna wait to put the fender pan and seat on until wiring figured out. Certainly enough for tonight.

Looking good Steve!

Just for info...If the rim is only bad around the stem they can be fixed with a washer, a wire welder and some creative grinding.. I have done several in the past.

Keep up the great work and thanks for the pics!!

On saving a rim, not worth the time, on easily gotten used replacements.
That said, I have saved a few, especially old spoke wheels on implements/tractors.
The bigger 16" and 38" rims are actually easier done.
I have cut a good section from a donor rim and welded it in and re drilled the valve core hole in a solid section, that makes for a much easier repair if you are good @ welding/metal repair.
But for something like a little cub wheel, most times your effort is worth a lot more doing other restoration and spending a few $$ on a solid used wheel.

[QUOTE=Dirty Steve;366660] Got new lines on the gas tank after cleaning out the fuel shut off valves, which were horrid. QUOTE]

I'd be willing to bet that you fixed the "It runs for a while and shuts off" they won't run if they can't get fuel. When you get it done you'll have to take back to the dealer you bought it from just to bust on them.

I agree on the time factor George... but Super rear rims are hard to come by around here... the offset is different than the std garden tractor rim.

Just my 2 cents but you can buy 10-1/2" wide rim shells and centers from Miller or you can buy complete rims from Xtreme. I normally put a 10-1/2" wide rim on a Super. I like 1-5/8" backspace, this puts 1" of the additional rim width inboard and 1" outboard.

Got a few minutes of work done this evening on the mower deck lift. The front deck hanger eyelets had significantly warn the sides of the lift frame from the front deck lift arms being bent. I was able to convince my brother into welding on them for a few minutes more. Got them ground down today and started degreasing the lift pieces with hopes to paint them this weekend. All the hardware and hanging points are warn and will need replacing.

Steve, I just went through the same thing with my 1782.. Those big heavy Habans really put a beating on the lift frame.. But it can all be fixed with a welder, grinder and some pins, bolts and bushings.

It's looking great.. keep up the outstanding work!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
