Default Picked up a 85 today

Went shopping last night and found this 85. Called the guy, came to find out he was only an hour away, and the weird thing... he's the guy that bought my first Original.
We struck a price the both of us were happy with. So this afternoon we went to get the Cadet 85.
The dude said it didn't run when he got it, but had spark and would sputter with spraying gas in the carb. Seats in the truck, so it's all there.
Did I need it? NO! But why not?

Very cool I like it! I wouldn't mind having a rear engine Cub if I came across one. Congrats!

Todd, you'll have a blast with your RER. I really enjoy mine. Wish I had the time to tinker with mine more...

Congrats Todd!!

Fix it up? WHY NOT!

I swear when I was a kid, we had one of these either in the corner of the shed, or in our dump. I dunno..... maybe it was just an old go-cart.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
