I have some angle iron and cement blocks and thought about making something like this.

Might be harder to build but something like this would do a better job I think.

Yeah, it sucked running it on a 98°day on a cab less tractor. Loud too. Like a jet. Not like deafening.... but loud.

It did a job. It's like like you burned the weeds to ashes. Just got them hot. They would either die, or it would stunt them long enough for the crop to get ahead of them. Problem is, it did the same to the crop. Corn would turn yellow sometimes. Beans, just slowed their growth. Soybeans are very residual, and can take a hard beating and pull through. Corn is in the grass family. It doesn't like having to work hard to grow. Did it work? It helped, but I'm not convinced it didn't cause yield to really suffer. We did good to get 50 bushel beans and 125 bushel corn.

Since it is so wet here, I'm thinking of doing it in the garden. Nothing but a wet sponge. Gotta do something with the weeds. I have one of those handhelds you have. Going to use it.

Yeah. Like I said. Works great on patio and brick walk. I can burn to root and until black and then sweep away. One time I got a little close to the new black mulch tho lol.. GET THE HOSE!! GET THE HOSE!!! SO now I do it before the fresh mulch goes down.

I bought some weed killer that is 43% glyphosate and the directions say to mix 7.4 oz in 1 to 10 gallons of water. I want to spray my gravel driveway, what would you recommend as the best ratio? Obviously if I mixed it in 10 gallons it would be 10 times weaker compared to mixing it in one gallon. The directions also states that you can mix 6 oz in 1 gallon for spot spraying. I will be using a 4-gallon backpack sprayer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
