Allen (and all), this has been said before, said often, and in many different ways, but somehow it seems to resurface more frequently than anyone cares to admit (or even wants to recall). I respect you, Allen, as I think you already know, and I certainly appreciate your thread with the other members posts to it. However, I have witnessed in the past that these words are like preaching to the choir and the best sermons I have ever known were never spoken or written, but lived and witnessed in the action of others. Nonetheless, I will remain optimistic and continue to hope that these words resonate in all of our ears before we respond to each others' posts so that we are respectful of each others' knowledge (or lack of) and opinions that may differ from our own. It is good to see you back into the forum and even better to see your positive leadership re-surface. Time will tell if we have learned the lesson....

I'd like to thank Allen for bringing it up. Sad truth is some of the responses I see have kept me from responding to a lot of threads I have insight on and sadly I haven't read many posts in the main forum for IH Cub Cadets for years and rarely do now. I know a lot about them having owned over 100 and love to help but life's too short and there's enough negativity in the world. I sure won't read negativity pertaining to my favorite hobby and as such just don't read all the good and insightful posts pertaining to Cubs because you never know when it'll start. I've talked to a lot of good people here on and off the site in the past and glad for the site having put me in contact with them and also some cool stuff I've bought, but as for participating or reading I probably could have easily done 5-10 times what I do because of attitude. That's just kind of the frame of mind I've had about this site's culture for a long time.
I'm sure saying this will make some unhappy with me but I hope it makes some of us realize that myself and possibly others find it easier and more civil to just "walk away" for the most part rather than argue.

You are right Allen. I really don't like the negative attitudes here. The nit picking, and splitting hairs needs to go. I have always chose to be a student of the class, and treating people with kindness and dignity is how I was raised.

It's easy to some times read posts, and have them relay as something different in a negative way. At 40 years old now, I don't need a hot-shot talking down on me.
Also, lets keep the politics out of here. Nothing worse than someone believing that the American people don't deserve better than this party or that party has to offer.

So, I can pledge to be more respectable to others!

Yes, I like your new tractor. Who ever did the custom work, done a good, nice job!!!

The most surprising part of this thread is it has not yet been closed.

The fact is, it has not been closed because you can see how many members feel this way. I too have not shared because I did not want to deal with the crap. It is the same offenders over and over and it never changes. It is a shame because there are a lot of great members here.

Guys,

It's time for this to close up. Allen has made a statement to all, and some have commented. Others may feel this way, others may not. Fact is, it's an internet forum. You WILL encounter people here you don't like. You may find some people hard to get along with. Same is true in day to day life. Just do what you would do in a daily situation if you had to work with someone you dislike.

This thread has remained civil, and I thank you all for that. Allen, I appreciate how you are always positive and upbeat!

This thread is now closed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
