Tim, oh Guru and Painter Extraordinaire...so far that looks awesome. I was thinking about getting a 1973 Chevy dualie and painting it to be a Cub hauler. Looking forward to seeing the outcome of this amazing restoration!

Looks great Tim.
Blows my mind with today's "chemicals", and booths, you can spray a panel in the am, and cut and buff pm the same day...
WAY back, we'd wait a week or better.

No waterborne here. We use PPG dbc which is solvent based, the government hasn't forced us into waterborne yet and when they do we're all done painting cars. I've heard from other guys that work in shops that use it and they don't like it and it has to be sprayed totally different then solvent based, PPG will flat out tell you that it's easier to teach someone to spray it that's never painted before than it is to teach someone that has sprayed solvent for years.

I have a friend that paints for one of the Toyota Dealers here and he said you could train a monkey to spray the waterborne paint. He said if you mess it up just hose it off and start over. I think he has sniffed a lot of fumes over the 30+ years he has been painting. Lets just say he is one of a kind.

Looks great Tim, that is going to be one sweet Crown Vic!

I had a 1978 GMC painted in two tone, yellow and camel toe white or sumthing like that.

Tim,
is the trim ready to install, or are you farming that out?

All the trim and chrome was sent out, it cost about $14,000 to have all the stainless straightened and polished and the bumpers chromed. A place not to far from us did it and they did a fantastic job.

Yesterday I got the base coat white and yellow sprayed on the body but ran out of time to clear so it sat overnight and I cleared it this morning.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
