Default 1968 72 with K241 in Missouri

This is my first Cub Cadet. Bought it from a guy down the road from my house. I have been working on a 1979 IH Scout for the pass 4 years or so. Its my daily driver. Also picked up a 1953 IH refrigerator over the summer. Its my beer fridge in the shop. Looking forward to getting the 72 more back to original shape. Would like to find the steering wheel, fenders, and do something with the exhaust. Currently it's a straight pipe off a Harley.

The threads seem to be good. The pipe at one point ran along the side and out by the seat. The guy before me moved them where they are now. I did order a k 241 muffler today. Hope it fits under the hood in the 72. Think it will by the dimensions listed.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
