Default Garden #2

My neighbor owns an old farm. He rents off most of it to an actual farmer for corn and beans. The old pastures he rents to a guy to make hay. There’s a small piece of old creek bottom that has not been used for anything. I asked if I could put some plants in, and he told me go ahead. My rent is cleaning up some dead wood laying around (firewood for me, and it’s locust to boot). It has been really wet around here for quite a while, and tonight I finally got a chance to get in and bust up some of the overgrowth. Still pretty wet, but the 1812 with the 1A tiller did a good job. Nothing like a Kohler magnum tugging on the governer a bit!

Looks a tad bit sticky! Crop insurance circles are already tossing around the term "prevented planting" here, and its raining more now.

At one point there was so much dirt on the front tires the front end was off the ground. Took me a minute to realize why I couldn’t steer, lol.

Absolutely agree! I wish I could’ve gotten in there last fall to turn it over, but the land owner is a hard guy to run into. I wanted to get the weeds and such knocked down, so hopefully soon I can get some spuds in.

In the picture below, the area on the upper left is where I tilled.

Either you have to have a cat 0 3pt and an adapter, or you have to build your own. A 2B is the only tiller that will work with cat 0, 3pt. A #2 would have to be modified to work.

J mech I was looking at other posts on here and I seen one marked tiller adapter for a 1872 by cyr2872. I was wondering if there is more info on a mounting brackets of this style it's a no.2 tiller it came with a 169 I bought at a farm auction. The 169 is getting a overhaul and I need a tiller adapter for this gt. Any info or pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated

Cyclone, I bought my adapter from xtreme motorworks. Pricey, but it went right on. Also, you do need the 3 point hitch, as J-mech said.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
