Default Compatible bumper for 2000 series

The “bumper” (if you could call it that since it’s pretty flush with the front grille panel) on my 2155 is kinda bent sideways. I’ve tried to straighten it but it’s not budging. I think if I remove it, I can bend it properly, but I’ve got my eye on a proper bumper instead.

I’ve seen some nice bumpers that protrude out from the front lawn/garden tractors, is there something similar that fits the 2000 series? I’m not interested in a full brush guard, but something that sticks out like 2-3 inches would be nice.

I don’t know about anything specifically about for your tractor, but a lot of the newer box store tractors have bumpers available. If you can weld or know someone who can, it may not be too hard to adapt one to fit.

The existing one seems to come off with a single (large) bolt on either side. It does appear there was a bolt on bigger bumper for the 2000 series - 190-298-100 I wonder how much I could snag one of those for?

I made this bumper for a 2000 series, cost me about $10 American. 2 pieces of flat bar stock and a piece of angle, a few minutes with the welder and bingo.

The chassis is pretty much standard from the HDS series to the GT series so the bumper from a GT will fit it just slides in and 2 bolts either side , ( see Sams photo for the bolt holes)

I suspect the current xt3 has the same bumper fitment. The xt3 gs has bumper 603-04945B. It's about 105 USD. You could drop by a cub cadet dealer and measure one up, see if it fits.

These folks may have some of the old stock they want to unload.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
