682 electrical diagnosis help needed
My 682 with kt17II won't crank. Battery is fully charged, it will crank over if I jump it at the solenoid. When I turn the key I get nothing (it has a brand new key switch) the amp gauge doesn't move at all. (on my 680 when I turn the key the gauge needle moves a little to discharge) The headlights don't turn on either. I need some directional help in diagnosing what to check in what order.
I would really appreciate any help given. Thanks in advance. Tom

I re-read my previous post and the replies and have tried those suggestions-- still nothing.

I got the lights to work. only a couple volts at the small terminal on the solenoid. I think I'm suffering from corroded connectors

The 682 had two different wiring diagrams, based on the chassis serial range.
What is your serial number..??
