Seems odd you've been through several coils though... the only things I can think that would accomplish that is some really high resistance burning it out, a short or just baaad luck!

I have to agree I feel fuel injection and computers on small engines is a horrible idea, I know a fella with a fairly new dirtbike (but JUST out of warranty) that's $1200 into repairs at the dealers and no closer to having a bike that will run longer than an hour before it quits... I will say I can't wait until someone unloads a XT2 for dirt cheap because they're fed up so I can rip the wiring out and motor swap it, for a newer tractor they looks great!

Exactly so. The root cause of so much stupidity.

They finally called yesterday. One week shy of seven months. They replaced the entire throttle body. Not sure how this caused an ignition problem but everything is computer. The parts would have been $500.00 but they talked the factory into covering under warranty. Still had to pay $222.00 labor.

Picked her up this morning. We'll see.....

I think part of the reason it took so long is those shops are constantly backed up. I know I was looking into getting a string trimmer carb repaired one time and they said it would be 6 weeks! I don't know if it's a lack of workers, lack of parts, too much work, or a combination of all of them.

I have a 2018 XT3 GSX (only issue), which was Not MTD Fault! It was a Faulty Warner electric clutch, went at 1.5hrs. Been a Great Tractor and Now it just Going to Be a Tilling(Bercomac 30-inch PTO tiller) & a Bercomac Rotary Broom Platform). Purchased a Cub Cadet SX54 Z-force recently. Hasn't been a Problem, except it Moves too Fast for the Mulch Kit to not leave residue

The XT1 series is their Price Point Models. The XT2 has some Good Improvements over the XT1, Minor improvements But worth the extra Price of the XT2

XT3, Basically a GT2500 series with a different rear Hitch Plate. I was against its Predecessor the GT or GTX2000 Because they didn't make an OEM sleeve Hitch for It Until 2016 (During XT3 Production) and the Tractor was marketed as a Garden tractor In 2011 and unless You Bought aftermarket equipment You really couldn't work in the Garden with it using OEM equipment.

The XT3 GSX the electric lift, Electronic Power steering and Diff/lock our some Nice Improvements over the Pre-2011 2000 & 2500 series Tractors. The Previous MTD/Cub was a 2002 2206 Had a 48-inch deck and OEM electric lift sleeve Hitch & a 30-inch Hydraulic tiller. That is the Only downside, is do to the New rear end Hitch Plate & fuel tank design couldn't Transfer the OEM electric lift sleeve Hitch & a 30-inch Hydraulic tiller from my 2206 to the XT3 GSX without some Major Modification to the OEM electric lift sleeve Hitch.

So I wouldn't say 1 Bad review should make the whole Line Bad. There is Need for Improvement On the XT1 series, though. But the XT1 is a Price Point Model where some features are reduced to keep the cost down. But It sounds More Like a dealer's service That really doesn't seem to know their Machines well and if Under warranty the Only thing the OP should have Had to Pay for is delivery & Pick Up. Should Not Have Had to Pay for any Labor Under the Warranty Period. Normally, that 3 years warranty is pretty good from MTD. Usually they Just cover it and Don't put up walls, Like Husqvarna is known for when it comes to Warranty service

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
