Default XT1 Fuel evaporation line connection

Hello
The evaporation line (permeation line?) has rotted off both ends (top of tank and front of engine.

Where is the connection to the front of the engine for this line?
Do I have to use a specific kind of hose for replacement?

Thanks, and thanks for your patience with dumb questions.

Most here are not familiar with that new of a mower. It would help us if you posted a few pictures of the problem.

More importantly, there are many variations of the XT1. I've seen some versions of the XT1 showing the evaporation line being 3/16" ID and 51" long and available for about $12 to $13 plus shipping.

Look at the link above "Cub Cadet Parts and Service Look-up" and then click the square in middle of page then enter XT1 in the model search query.

What engine is in it?
Should go from top of fuel tank to somewhere between the carb and air filter.
If it's a kohler engine you'll need to remove the engine cover and the 2 nuts holding on the filter housing. Should be a nipple there somewhere.

Default xt1 fuel line connection

Thanks for the responses.
It is a model 13APA1CT056

Kohler 7000 series, KT725

Looked up the parts diagram and i don't see where the evaporation line connects to the front of the engine. In look at the engine, the only thing i see there is a small "nipple"?, extending down from the bottom of the air filter housing. No barbs on it, just a smooth projection, that would fit the hose.

And, what is this? Number 1?

This is what the kohler engine folks says it looks like. But what is the purpose?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
