Now that I've been running it for a bit after an oil change, I notice I have an oil leak from one of the valve covers. Looks like Kohler uses an o-ring that is not regarded very highly in many places I've read. I found this option that looks like it may work. I found others stating they used "Form-a-gasket".
What does everyone here do on the Command engines? |

Just replace it with OEM. They work fine.

Don't believe everything you read. I put new Kohler ones in and have had no leaks.

Stick some new O-Rings in it and a little silicone and be happy. BTDT.

O-rings and new breather hose are in-hand but those will go on sometime next week.
Moving on to the PTO: This entire time the electrical connector to the PTO has been disconnected. Today I plugged this connection in and pulled the PTO knob. The tractor instantly died and got no response from anything. I found that the 20A fuse on the right side of the engine was blown. Installed a new fuse and the tractor starts again but I'm not going to toy with the PTO until I run an ohm test on it tonight. |
