Default Did I finally buy a Cadet?!

Well, getting back in the swing of buying Cubs again after a busy fall. Had a guy ask me if I was interested in this. I decided to go out on a limb and go look at this Cadet. I told myself I would never buy one...ha. This is my first one, I really don't know much about them. He sent me the attached pics, and WOW...I was just hooked on how good of shape it was! Supposedly runs great, but it has hydro issues. Reading up on these I hear it's a typical problem with the Cadets. It also came with a nice deck and an Operator's manual. Anybody know any info on these? I see it has a CCC tag on it, got home in the dark and couldn't see it. It was definitely cheap enough to take a stab at it and see if I could fix it. Are these more uncommon or just another Cadet? TIA for any replies.

Just unloaded it from the truck and tried to start it. Put some fresh gas in it, choked it several times and she started. Runs pretty well, may need to pull the main jet quick and clean it out. Now onto the harder part...the charge pump!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
