Default 1961 4 Digit "O"

Okay...

I've been wanting another Cub.... Terribly. Specifically an O. Here is one for sale that is about 2 hours away. Ad says that it "runs, drive, stops".

I feel that it is my duty to buy this and remove the blasphemy paint job that someone did.

My question is, "what do you guys think she is worth?"

No options appear to be present and the oil bath is missing.

Will it start and run? I'd hold the seller to it! It means it has a battery and wiring that works (old rotten cobbled up maybe).

That's not a bad price for us southern boys. He's asking $200, so he will probably take less. O's don't come up for sale much over here in GA and I'm pretty sure Bama is the same.

$150 to $200 is a fair price for it if it doesn't smoke. Bag it.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I know these things come up for sale quite often up North, but like stated above, they are kind of a rare "for sale" item down here in the south. I'm going to give him a call this evening. Hopefully she doesn't smoke and has a battery. We shall see. I'll post pics if it works out.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
