Don't worry you did a hell of a job on that patch! You are not getting younger but your skill speak for yourself!

More "Yummy" pictures please!

Thanks for the complement. It is frustrating that I have the ability but just cannot see well enough to tig weld like I used to. About 30 years ago I chopped the top on my 40 Chevy Coupe and all joints were hammer welded using a torch and a hammer and dolly. Believe me when I say that if I could see better you would not even been able to see the seam where I welded the patch. Yesterday I finished getting all of the sheet metal prepped for two coats of epoxy primer. cleaned the shop floor and today I should get the parts sprayed. While waiting fgor the epoxy to cure I plan on removing the engine and stripping the frame to get it ready to paint. Still debating between a black chassis like the 88 series farm tractors or red like the 82 series Cubs. I like both.

Thanks, that is my goal to build what should have been the Cyclops instead of the plastic fantastic. I still have not figured how to do the tilt wheel but I need to finish it and move on to my 57 Chevy project. I did get epoxy primer on all of the sheet metal today. I will post a couple of pictures tomorrow.

Me too. This guy seems to have the knowledge of ole George, the body work talents of Tim aka Olds, and the hydraulic knowledge of Trent. I like seeing multi talented guys on here.

Some proclaim how skilled they are and flash their credentials but have no real proof to back it up. It's cool to see it happening in threads like this and for me personally I'm always liking the explanations with details and learning new things along the way.

Right on Tom.

Guys, thanks for the complements. It means a lot to me coming from all of you.
I have always been a self taught do it your self type of guy. All of the work on my 57 is being done by me including the upholstery. I did have to farm out the machine work on the engine though.

I have all of sheet metal that will be painted red in epoxy primer and today I have the chassis mostly stripped to start preparing it for the black paint. Just a couple of progress pictures of bare metal and epoxied parts.

After two coats of Epoxy, I have to use a small amount of body filler on the hood and rear fender pan, most parts will only need a couple of coats of high build primer and block sanding to be ready for final paint.

Tomorrow I will finish tearing the frame down and start prepping it for paint.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
