Question 1250 Engine Trouble

Looking for a little help with a 1250 Quiet line Cub. The trouble is with the engine. I can start the engine and engage the mower deck and let it sit in place and it will run fine but, I start mowing and after driving about 60 feet the engine will sputter then just shut down. I can restart the engine right away, but when mowing it will still shut down. I have replaced the points and condenser and it is still doing the same thing. Please email me at: apollo57@ptd.net Any help would be appreciated.
Thank You

Does it run better if you pull out the choke?
If so, time for a carb rebuild. ...

You are running out of fuel even if you have a full tank. Could be carb or some restriction in fuel flow from the tank..... My guess is the later. Too low a fuel flow to carb.

Carb has been cleaned and rebuilt, fuel filter has been replaced and new spark plug installed when problem first surfaced. I know the older "K Series" engines had issues with valve adjustment. Is it possible that might be my issue?

I agree with the previous posts. Sounds like a Fuel Delivery problem.

My experience is that adding an inline filter to a Quietline will cause fuel delivery problems. The screen in the tank is more than enough filtration.

What I want to know is why do we have to email Mr Whipple?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
