I think you got right to he bottom of my issue when you said I didn't go deep enough with the till. I fully understand there will be weeds. this year it was just a bit intense.

That's the majority of my motivation as well, something to play with and use equipment. I need to justify the cub cadet hobby by at least producing a couple tomatoes with them I sit in front of a computer all day for work so its a nice change of pace. There's also something satisfying about producing some food on your own land.

That's precisely what I mean, its free "fertilizer" plus the clippings have to hold some moisture which that I would otherwise be throwing away.

I seem to find myself in this predicament all to often. Though the bagger for my mower is a couple hundred pounds and is a pain to get on with one person. I usually only bag in the fall for leaves or when I dethatch. When I wait too long I just end up running over the clippings again/crosshatching to chop them up a bit more. I know a waste of time but I only mow about an acre of grass so its not a huge time killer.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
