Kohler magnums

Which Cubs had kohler magnums? I'm going to do another project and want to know.

Edit: I forgot to add that I want to know horizontal shaft magnums.

Really....? Another Project... Have you completed any of the ones you stated you "may" be starting earlier? Do a search as anyone else would do here to answer your question...

This project will be a next summer project, 1250 will be an early winter project, and the 1482 will be spring project.

I'm looking for which tractors are horizontal twins.

Depends on which magnums you are talking about. Basically the entire kohler lineup got rebranded “magnum” in the 80s with added magneto ignition.

They are more or less the same engines as they were before, but with different ignition. (I.e. a m12 is basically a k301).

As for cub cadet Corp, they used them in basically everything they built between approx 1986 and 1989ish with a couple exceptions. If it starts with a “12” “18” or “20” and isn’t a cyclops, it’s probably got an m12, m18 or m20 in it. There are also some oddball engines that were “de-rated” that are essentially the same engine too. There’s a twin cylinder m16 which is really an m18. The mv17 is really an mv18.

After 89, there are lots of different engine variations so you’d have to do the research on a particular model. Ccc used Briggs, Kubota (gas and diesel), kohler (mag and command and later courage), Kawasaki, onan and more after then.

Early 2082’s had mag 20’s in them. So while looking don’t ignore all cyclops.
The post above made it sound like no cyclops had a mag.

Yeah. 1861, 1862 had mag18s as well. Cyclops are about half and half
Mags.

But with all the time you seem to have don't rule out the Sunstars, Craftsman, Allison, Duetz, Montgomery Wards, Willards, Wheelhorse, Gravely, etc....... As all of these had Mags in them at one time also.... But you knew that correct.... ?

Yeah, I knew. the trouble is just finding a good one. Most are m12s or m16s, and all the m18s and m20s are vertical shaft. Of course, for both things I want a magnum for both require a horizontal, planning on swapping a mag into a deere and into my new little tractor. Well, at least it's easy to find a single for the little guy, but the twin is going to be a bit more...tricky.

Mags twins around my area are getting scarce.
The CHs are easier to find. Maybe look for one of those.
I put a CH18 in a 782 and loved it, I would still have it but somebody loved it more than me and paid me for it.
