Default 3000 Series reverse speed

Hi,

Is there a good way to increase speed in reverse without decreasing forward speed?

My sister has a 3225 that will barely move in reverse.

Thanks,

Ike

the bushings on the pedal shafts wear and can cause that problem , there are 2 different sizes... the linkage is also adjustable for length has 2 bolts and the hole is slotted right under the foot board

There is a second adjustment located under the floor pan in between the frame rails. The last three 3000 series tractors I've bought has required this adjustment to be made since the two bolts had come loose.

Basically the best way is to replace any worn bushings and adjust the linkage at both locations.

Reach down and pull up on the forward pedal while backing up. If this increases your reverse speed then you probably have worn bushings.

Pulling up on the forward pedal definitely increased the reverse speed. New bushings are on order.

Thank you for the tip.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
