My brother says he will ride out the storm. That was yesterday, now I think that hotel 4 hours away in GA. is looking better.
He was worrying about looters but why would they want to steal wet and sandy stuff?

Hope any of you in the path of this stay safe. Looks like I'll be Ok may get some rain and maybe some wind, my daughter is in Leesville SC just west of Columbia SC so I'm concerned for her. Prayers that this thing craps out before landfall.

It does look like it might crap out......
It has been dropping by about 5mph all day, every 3 hours. Down to 115mph at 8pm.
NOAA/Hurricane Center reports expect it to fluctuate and then start to weaken later on Thursday.
I bet it will make landfall at a Cat 2 or strong Cat 1, but it will still be a big rain/flood event the longer it lingers on the coast.

I hope for everyone's sake it does drop out. I was in Louisiana last week when they were supposed to get hit, and it fizzled. was real glad it didn't do anything.

Snow is not a problem. I actually look forward to snow as plowing or blowing is fun seat time. Although we don't get as much snow as Indiana (son went to IUP), I don't look at snow as an issue, retired or not. I or other neighbors plow multiple neighbor driveways just to help. In winter I am heading toward snow either by car or to the airport.

If the amount of rain we've gotten this summer is an indication of how winter will be there will be plenty of snow to play in.

In 9 hours it has slowed by 5mph in forward speed and 5mph in wind speed.
To 10mph forward and 105mph winds.
It is about 7.5 hours from eye landfall.
Still headed to the NW and has not yet started to turn west.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
