Should I use it?
Needed an air filter for dad's Johnny Cash special--it has a K181 ( I think). Any way, this is what my parts guy sent me (along with some K301 and 54"GT deck parts). Not certain its the correct one, but it's got the cool factor for sure. I'll probably use it and save the box.

I would use it, but is for a K161, and put a newer one back in the box. Looks like Africa is on the stain.

Hmmm, I thought the stain had more of a Texas vibe--but what do I know, never studied geography.

I thought the stain was of an alien skull.... Looking right.
I'm not so sure about using NOS filter....the element could dry out and might break up too easily. Something to think about.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
