YA BEAT ME!!! lol.. yeah thats a good one. I wonder tho. Is that pipe fitting used in any other industrial use? $100 bucks for a new one I think i read here seems a bit nuts. Be interesting to find it in some other use with a different part number or something.

Not sure what you mean by stand alone? You mean it was custom build part for kohler or cub cadet? It very well could be.

I asked the question about it being a part used in other industry's because I often find manufacturers will buy parts used in other industries if available in order to keep engineering costs down.

Anyone have links to headlights for my 1250? Mine don't match or work, so I need new ones.

I think what he meant was that it doesn't fit on any other engine other than 16 horses.

They are a simple 4411 automotive light. Any part store can get them.

And they don't fit any other application than a Cub Cadet.
Matter of fact, none of the elbows fit any other series other than the QL series. (Exception: The 169.)
(Example John Deere used the K series, but different exhaust elbows.

LOL.. Nothing wrong, Was not questioning you, or anyone being right or wrong. I apologize if it came across that way. I was really just curious. Whenever I see something so simple with a big price tag it makes me wonder is all. I asked about them being used in other industry because a lot of items like that from the 60,s and 70's got used in lots of different things. Kinda like TUG inc uses Ford calipers on a non Ford differential.. In fact all the tugs we work on have a wide mix of manufacturers parts on them. Some of their items are proprietary like that exhaust elbow but most of the drive line is not. IH/Cub Cadet, JD etc were pretty smart in keeping certain parts proprietary. It made for a good supply chain and gave the dealers some exclusivity of selling their parts. That is until the after markets caught up lol.. Still, There's something to be said for the quality of a great OEM like Cub Cadet

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
