Default WIW? Cub Cadet Model 124

Third one of three. It has a three point hitch, tires are still holding air, and it appears that all the parts are present.

This one is not a runner yet, but I believe I can get it running, so consider it a runner when you are estimating a fair selling price.

Let me know if you need better photos. It was sort of tucked into a tight spot and I did the best I could for where it was.

If you cleaned it up a bit I think you can get $400. Location matters.

Does it have headlights? I'm assuming it does seeing it has the rear light. If they all work that would certainly add value. Sure it nots the prettiest but if it's operable the cosmetics aren't so bad. Sleeve hitch, adapter and spring assist is nice too, at least $400 if everything operable, bummer it doesn't have original seat. I gave 550 for this 124 a few yrs ago with a no 2 cart, it's an awesome machine, and I bought it from the original owners next door neighbor. Narrow frame prices in my area are pretty low too I think

Yours is in quite a bit better shape than the OP's.... and you got a cart. Not sure how you guys are coming up with $400 given the condition of that machine. The sum of the parts does not constitute a whole.

He stated that it will be a runner when it's posted.
I stated that IF he cleaned it up a bit, he could get $400.

That tractor would sell easily at $400+ down here if it were running and cleaned up.

Again, location matters.

At the end of the day, it's worth what someone is willing to pay.
You can always lower an asking price, but you can't raise it.

You can't clean rust.... only repaint it. Sure you can wash it, but I don't think it's going to "clean up" much.

Thank you for the feedback. It does have headlights. Don't yet know if they work. Will check the lights once it's a runner. (Carb kit is on the way.) I discussed with the owner and we're going to ask $400. Will post in for sale forum after I get it running.

You might try putting a deck on it. A lot of time, if a buyer sees an immediate use for the item, then they don't hesitate to let go of the cash.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
