Tecumseh engine ID?
I have this tecumseh engine that was given to me and I can’t find any ID on it anywhere. I had a similar one on my Jacobsen snowblower before and it was an HM80. This one is newer looking, and from some MTD machine. Any suggestions? I don’t know if there are any tecumseh experts here.

remove the electric starter plug. I can vaguely see part of the ID stamped next to it and running underneath it. might have to sand slightly on shroud in that area

Cool Steve. Time to find a CAT pump and make a belt drive pressure washer from that one

Most of those snowblower motors are 8 or 5hp. 8hps have a big rectangle can muffler the 5hp ones are L shaped like that one. Many uses for that! Nice!

The only ID I can find is 143-686092 on top, which comes up in searches as a tecumseh on a Sears snowblower. Looks like it might be an HM100... I got it running too, it needs carb work. It’s in bad shape. I took it apart and cleaned it but there’s too much rust and chit up in there. Also the gas tank is cracked on the side which stinks. She’s a runner though which is cool.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
