Looks like a previous repair job.
I may have a shaft for you...but you may want to get the whole column as that one had water in it at one time.

Hm maybe it was. It looks like it may have actually been a little thinner where it broke, but that could just be the way it broke.

The shaft has never been sealed in the time I have had it, the steering wheel has always been able to wiggle side to side.

Seeing the Master of Lew has a complete column, you'd be better off going that route...

Were you able to get a replacement shaft? I'm in a similar situation and need a shaft but all i can find are longer ones.

MiniXP - start soaking that shaft/wheel in penetrating oil right now! good luck! I am betting its gonna be difficult to remove the wheel from that shaft with that much rust
