Well the wiskas are a bit wilted... the deck has a rot hole right where they ALL do on these. I didn't look it over too closely, it was only $75.

But I already replaced the fuel pump with a known good one, and I'm waiting for the battery to charge... then I'll fire it right up! (I hope) and test the voltage regulator. I have a known good one here already if it proves to be bad.

Those look like a combination between bottle brushes and curb feelers....

Heck, at $75 it's worth it without a deck.

I had two 2135s that I picked up back in 2009 for $50 for the pair. I got both of them running. They're shaft driven, hydrostatic lawn tractors. The battery was hard to get to, to replace it.

The 21X5s were better than the 21X0s, since those were the automatic gear drive system that had pedals, but also a gear shift. Problem on those, owners wanted to use the pedals like you would on a hydrostatic drive tractor, which wore out the clutch in them.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
