Yep. If you pick up a deck it will most likely come with it. They (mule drives) aren't that expensive.

I guess I'd better get one! I don't feel so bad now, it's hard to find something that isn't there!

I know exactly what you mean. I have had to get a few parts that were MIA. So like you I asked.

Stitch, The mule drive you saw pictured attaches to the bottom front of the tractor using the large "Frankenstein" bolts. An undercarriage attaches to the mule drive and the mowing deck attaches to the undercarriage. A belt goes from the pto down to the mule drive where it changes direction using the two idler pulleys that are part of the mule drive. From here the belt simply goes to the mowing deck. It's really pretty basic and once you do it you'll understand. In other words, the mule drive is part of the undercarriage which is necessary to install a mowing deck.
Good luck and hope this helps, Wayne

Stitch,

Not sure if anyone has mentioned to you but, the mule drive for your 100 will not look like the one in denrocks1's post, that is a mule drive, but it's not the one for your 100. The one for your 100 does not attach to or with Frankenstein bolts. Yours will simply bolt on with four regular bolts. Here are a couple of pictures of what yours should look like from the side (where it bolts on).

There is different styles of deck..the correct style for your 100 is a 'Pin On' style 42" deck....so you need the corresponding lift carriage. in a post that was made 2 days ago....
And I said "Not sure if anyone has mentioned to you". So I musta missed that part or forgot it was there. I beg you pardon all to "heck".

I think I'm just a knucklehead sometimes, not sure why but once in awhile I miss half of what's written in a post and if I go over it again, I'll think "where the heck did that come from, it wasn't there five minutes ago".

I guess it's kinda like walkin around the shop looking for whatever tool I was using two minutes ago, then all of a sudden realizing that it's in my pocket... OR MY OTHER HAND.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
