Default Engine break in

I just rebuilt my k321 engine .010 over new piston, rings, valves, and guides installed. I'm asking everyone's opinion on break in time and what rpm's.

After the initial start up and fine tuning, I run mine how ever I intend to use them. If that means wide open, then I run it wide open. If it won't take it now it won't in 6 months. Be sure to get the break in oil out of it in about 4 or 5 hours.

Same here , when we build or harley engines we break them in like we are going to ride them . If it is a big electra glide ,then we will run it down the highway at differant speeds between 45-80. If it is just a mean nasty bar bike ,then we really woop on it. Has always worked for us. I know there is probably a strict procedure, but I would run at idle for a couple minutes, then at half throttle for a couple more ,then mow the grass with it. After that i would change the oil and if everything looked ( OIL ) and sounded good,I would say it is ready to go.

Joe, what I want to know is how you break in the engines on that dual jet engine bike!

rlcryan, I agree with the others, go easy at first to get stuff lapped in a bit, then varying speeds and loads, then run it like you plan to use it, and change the break in oil in 5 hours or so.

RHODERMAN,
Iam not sure there would be much of a break in period on that. I have been fortunate enough to ride some pretty quick bikes, turbo and magna charged harleys, turbo charged hyabusa, and a 625 horse 502 big block boss hoss ( that was stupid quick ) , but I think twin jet turbines is probably not something I want on 2 wheels between my legs.

LOL! I figured it was photoshopped. I was just kidding around.
If you do find one that's real, I want to watch you ride it. There ain't no way I'd get on something like that! Call me a chicken, you'd be right!
Have a good weekend!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
