Having tractors with both, I would never choose a stick if the Hydro was available. I have the foot Hydro control and think it is great. It really speeds things up and leaves your hands free for other things.

I'd put it on a hydro. Easier to switch between F and R. Come to think of it.. that's why I bought that 125 from you Lindy!!

I have a Quick Way loader on my 169 and it works great! Be sure to replace the front spindles/wheels with the later 1" ones and the front axle from a 82 series if you can come up with one. If not, check your front axle to make sure there are no grooves cut in to it by mule drive pulleys that have rubbed in the past, or you will snap the front axle the first time you lift something heavy! I have also replaced the rear wheels with spaced out ones as otherwise it can get a little tipsy at times, especially turning corners when loaded.
( I am talking about the tractor being loaded, not the operator )

By the way, Great site here! I have been in to Cubs now for 30+ years and have quite a collection that I will try to post pictures of in the near future.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
