Great deal! Hopefully there's a lot of usable "stuff" in that pile.

We run Sears lifts and Sears equipment on the back of our Cubs.. it's actually much better equipment than the Brinley sleeve hitch stuff.. Dad figured out a way to adapt the Sears three point to a Cub rear axle way back in the 60's

Must still be alot of Cub stuff still in FL... there is NOTHING left around here!
Thanks for the info Jay. Hope to see you and your dad this year or next at one of the shows? This coming February show featured tractors are IH, Case IH, Case, amd New Holland. Guy I sometimes display with and have sold a few of mine to will be there with probably about 25 to 30 cadets. Should be a good one.

Thank you friends for all the kind words. I was just telling Tim in a conversation we had that you would think Florida would be a sparse state for cubs but it’s actually the opposite. A lot of older folks obviously retire down here and bring stuff with them from the north and realize they want to get rid of it or just leave it in the woods. I have bought almost all the rare IH models over the years and it’s not too hard to find IH stuff other than 82 series and newer cyclops for some reason aren’t that easy to find. I’ve been on the hunt for years for a 782/982 but one day I will get the right one. I got my 70 I’ve been looking for so patience is the key. Anyone coming to the sunshine state to visit the Mouse House or LEGO Land bring a trailer and look me up, wife and kids can go wait in the lines and we can go hunt for some cubs!

So that is a nice story from the land of make believe, still waiting for the serial number of that 70.

Those people with their 82 series have not retired yet, soooo when they do the wave will come from the ocean or the pennsatucky land.

Look at you go Mike!! Three of them in one day. Just shows you what some patience and perseverance will do. Glad you scored them my friend!!! Just hope you sell rather than scrap the "extra" parts, as they aren't making that stuff anymore. Besides, how better to fund your addition?

I understand your concern Maxwell. I’ve become a borderline hoarder in my forties for some reason. Trust me, if I scrap it, it is literally unusable or has so much layered rust/rot that you can poke your hand through it. Heck I’ve rebuilt wide frame fenders that were rotted through in the steps and made a new battery box because it was gone-zo.

These things are made so well that it takes a lot to kill them, unfortunately Florida’s humidity and salty air mixed with pine needles is a metal killer if not kept up with.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
