What Did You Name Your Cub?
I thought this would be an interesting topic to talk about. What names have you given to your cubs? My 107 is named "Katelyn" but I refer to it as "the 107".

I have seen plenty of cub cadets with names. Not all of them are people names, but if they are, its a girl name. To be honest, I don't really know why people name things like this. Honestly, it should be older, because a new one with a name just doesn't make sense.

Well I guess I'm one of the childish ones. Most of my Cubs have a nickname. My 782 that I fought with an engine skip is Skipper, the recoil start Original is RipCord (thanks Oak), my 2072 is Bear (strong like one), the 1772 I got in Tennessee is Walker (Tennessee walking horse). Being a fleet mechanic for 31 years, the mechanics gave various trucks nicknames as well, like a 4WD Freightliner with flotation tires all the way around was "Bigfoot". I wonder if the air crews in WW2 were being childish when naming their aircraft.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
