Default Tonka trucks

Anyone collect and restore them? That was my main hobby before tractors. I have restored 14 and a John Deere pedal tractor. It has been about 5 years since I worked on any. I started on a dump truck, took it all apart and got it ready for paint, but never got it painted. I kind of forgot about it for a while, but recently started thinking about it again. I want to try to get it painted soon, but have to wait for a day that the spray booth is empty at work. I could do a pressure can job on it, but would rather do it right with the gun.

In the meantime, last week I decide to paint my trencher. A quick job to get back into it. Here are a few before pictures:

Here’s the rest of my collection. The tractor still needs a set of decals. The only one I didn’t do was the Shop Rite truck, that is in near perfect original condition. I also have quite a few more waiting for their turn.

Pictures are not very good. They were on my old laptop which for some reason no longer goes on the internet, so I had to take a picture of the screen. I’ll work on getting better ones.

Those are some nice resto's, you both do great work.!!

I see a lot of Tonka's at estate sales still in the boxes, but I am there for bigger things, but I have been known to pick up a few...

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
